7 reasons to move to brawa

Have you ever wondered about moving to Bali? Ocean, palm trees, rice fields and sunshine all year long. Everyone would love to enjoy a life with all of these. It is not that difficult to find a great area to live unless you know your own preferences.

One of the island’s newest hotspots for expats is Brawa with its tropical character and youthful atmosphere. It is a coastal village where Balinese culture and western style are living in perfect harmony.

We have 7 good reasons for you to choose Brawa!

  1. Location & neighborhood

As Brawa is located between Canggu and Seminyak there are less hipsters driving the motorbike without appropriate clothes and less tourists going for shopping in big cars. However both areas are just a few minutes away in case you are looking for a crazy party or a good restaurant. You’d better chill among rice terraces or take a walk on the coastline? You do not need to go anywhere as you can find all of these here. The attractive location contributes to its increasing popularity although the area is still less crowded than other beloved villages in Bali.

  1. Sunset, beach, surf

The perfect afternoon program contains of surf, coconuts, smoothies and sunset. Luckily you can find all of these on Brawa Beach. Depending on water conditions all kind of surfers find their perfect waves here. Surf schools with board rental and instructors are great help for beginners. Don’t panic if you are not that kind of water person. You can rent a daybed on the grey sandy beach and enjoy a fresh, young coconut while getting some tan. Beach clubs and bars like Finns Beach Club or 707 on Pantai Batu Belig just increase the level of your sunset experience. Having a Bintang in the pool or in comfy beanbags can be a perfect relaxation during every evening.

  1. Quiet villa life among rice paddies

Another good thing about Berawa area is that it is a mixture of Uluwatu’s beach life and Ubud’s ricefield neighbouring atmosphere. Here you can rent a villa among those beautiful green rice paddies just 5 minutes ride from the beach. Drinking your morning coffee  peacefully or having an afternoon rest in your hammock with those greenery views are making your days better. Yes, it is as quiet and relaxing as you imagine.

Rental prices are usually cheaper than in Seminyak or Canggu.

  1. Good for families

Brawa has opportunities for parents to provide a healthy social and educational life for their children. There are international schools nearby like Canggu Community School or Montessori School. As an after school activity many kids go to football training to Finns Recreation Club where adults can find their favorite programs like tennis, gym, sauna and restaurants as well. The Waterpark is a huge plus which is fun for everyone. For family gatherings or special events The Joglo offers everything you need. Even Pilates class, cafe and juicery are available there.

  1. Stylish cafés and restaurants

Are you living a healthy life and you can’t get enough of those tasty fruit bowls and fresh tropical juices? Do you have two hungry children and a husband but you are not in a breakfast making mood? Are you a digital nomad who is looking for a social and stylish place to work? You have luck with living in Berawa. You can choose from a bunch of cozy cafés and chillout spots like Satu Satu Coffee, Hungry Bird or Ruko Cafe. In case you are planning to connect sunset with a romantic dinner, La Laguna is the place to be.

  1. Affordable life

Brawa has all the things nearby what you need for your everyday life. Supermarkets like Popular where you can find everything from local tropical fruits to import cheese brands, will be your favorite place for shopping. Post office, medical emergency, ATM, bike rental, surf shops, local Warungs (Indonesian restaurant) – all are available here. Living costs depend on your comfort level but it is still cheaper than other popular touristic areas.

  1. Safety first

We hear more and more stories about crimes and accidents in Bali. Bag snatchers, pickpocketers and burglars are very busy around touristic hot spots and villas. That’s why in spite of the Balinese practice, it is better for foreigners and expats to close their villas, put their valuable things away and  install CCTV.

Fortunately these are not that common in Brawa but is better to take care of yourself all the time and mainly when it is dark. If you pay attention to the traffic, to wear a helmet, put your belongings inside the motorbike and never leave them there, always drive at a normal speed and use a taxi after a crazy party, then you won’t experience any inconvenient surprises.
